The Tauck Tours “Land of Fire and Ice” includes a roundtrip transfer from Keflavik International Airport; a very good thing because taxis are super expensive. Transport options into Reykjavik, a 50 kilometer/31 mile and 45 minute ride are:
– Airport Express 2400 ISK = $21 USD (airportexpress.ie) 2,400 ISK = $21. The Airport Express sales office is at the arrivals terminal and takes approximately 45 minutes. They offer complimentary pick-up/drop-off service from all major hotels in the Reykjavik area. Ask your hotel to book an Airport Express transfer for your journey back to the airport. I read that there is a discount of 5% if you book on line;

– Flybus 2500 ISK = $22 USD. The Flybus is located right outside the Keflavík International Airport. The bus leaves 35-40 minutes after arrival of each flight. Ask for information at the Flybus information desk in the arrival hall. Upon request, the bus will stop at Hotel Viking in Hafnarfjorpur (where most cruise ships depart from) and at Aktu Taktu in Garoabær. The first stop in Reykjavik is the BSÍ Bus Terminal. If that is not convenient, transfers are available to all major hotels, the Youth Hostel, camping area and the domestic airport; passengers then board smaller buses;
– A Taxi for 1-4 people is 15,000 ISK = $134; and
